Nine athletes represented the Ellis County United Special Olympics delegation in powerlifting at the North Region State Meet in Bedford, Texas, on Saturday, Jan. 25. Two men and seven women competed in three lifts: bench press, squat and deadlift. The team earned four bronze, nine silver and seven gold medals in individual lift competitions, and also brought home two bronze, two silver and one gold medals in overall combined competitions.
